The Sanmina facility in Austin, Texas provides precision machining and mechanical assembly services to customers. Precision machining capabilities include vertical milling, horizontal milling, and turning on a wide range of materials including aluminum, copper, composites, stainless titanium, and high alloy steel with a milling envelope of up to 60" x 50" x 40". The facility specializes in high-mix, low volume production and also offers subassembly, integration, New Product Introduction services, and clean room assembly.Job Purpose:The production planner is responsible for planning and managing production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity as well as managing inventory levels. Some level of expediting critical work orders will also be part of the role.Nature of Duties and Responsibilities:Acts on order releases action and exception messages from the company system.Plans and manages production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and best utilize the company’s productive capacity.Analyzes sales order releases with respect to capacity planning and material requirements.Manages inventory levels, schedules and availability of selected item, either manufactured or purchased, to meet production schedules. Completes shipping information and delivery date input during sale order reviews.Orders floor stock with shelf life material for production.Reviews work in process material sweeps from production floor.Receives and reviews sales orders against current requirements and work in process using the material requirement planning report.Interfaces with manufacturing personnel, the purchasing department and supervisors on material status and production planning issues.Routine walks/visits to production departments to check status or disposition work orders required.What You'll BringMicrosoft Excel Proficiency is a must.
