We are conducting a search for an experienced Production Planner to join a large, established manufacturing operation in Old Hickory, TN, just outside Nashville. This is an opportunity to join a sophisticated manufacturing environment where the Production Planner plays an important role in keeping production, supply chain, customer service, maintenance, purchasing, and operations aligned. What You’ll Do Develop and manage detailed production schedules for multiple manufacturing lines based on customer orders and downstream production requirements. Balance customer delivery commitments with capacity, inventory, operational efficiency, and changing manufacturing conditions. Work closely with Manufacturing, Maintenance, Purchasing, Warehouse, R&D, Customer Service, and other Supply Chain team members. Lead weekly scheduling meetings to ensure production plans account for maintenance requirements, downtime, materials, and operational constraints. Monitor actual manufacturing performance against the production plan and adjust priorities when conditions change. Create and manage production process orders and purchasing requirements within SAP . Coordinate production requirements with internal and external converting operations. Help manage inventory levels, aged inventory, open customer orders, and production priorities. Communicate proactively with Customer Service and commercial teams when production changes could affect customer commitments. Work with SAP data governance resources to maintain accurate master data and establish new materials. The position has responsibility for planning three manufacturing lines as well as coordinating downstream converting operations and imported finished goods from an international sister facility. What We’re Looking For 3-5 years of experience in production planning, supply chain, manufacturing, or operations . Strong understanding of manufacturing and production processes. Experience working with SAP or another ERP system . SAP experience is strongly preferred. Advanced Excel capabilities, including formulas, pivot tables, data analysis, and reporting. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly organized and comfortable managing multiple priorities. Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively across manufacturing, maintenance, supply chain, purchasing, customer service, and leadership. Associate degree required; bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Operations, Manufacturing, Business, or a related discipline preferred. Why Consider This Opportunity?
