Production Planner

Position Overview We are seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Production Planner to join our manufacturing team. This newly created position offers an opportunity to help implement our MISys Manufacturing MRP system alongside Sage 300 ERP, while developing and managing production planning processes. The role will initially focus on MRP implementation, inventory organization, and Bill of Materials (BOM) development before transitioning into ongoing production scheduling and inventory management. This opportunity is well suited to individuals with a background in mechanical engineering, manufacturing, operations, or supply chain management. Key Responsibilities Phase 1: MRP Implementation Assist with the implementation and integration of MISys MRP and Sage 300 ERP. Organize, verify, and migrate inventory and manufacturing data. Work with engineering to develop accurate multi-level Bills of Materials (BOMs). Participate in system testing, workflow development, and barcode inventory implementation. Phase 2: Production Planning Develop and maintain production schedules based on customer orders, material availability, and manufacturing capacity. Monitor raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory. Coordinate with purchasing, engineering, and manufacturing to ensure materials are available to meet production deadlines. Generate and track manufacturing orders, shop floor travelers, and production progress. Maintain BOMs within the MRP system, including Solidworks data and approved engineering revisions. Identify production bottlenecks, inventory discrepancies, and opportunities for process improvements. Qualifications & Skills Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is an asset. Understanding of manufacturing processes, production planning, and inventory management. Strong computer skills, particularly Microsoft Excel. Familiarity with BOMs, MRP/ERP systems, or technical drawings is beneficial. Experience with MISys MRP or Sage 300 is an asset but not required. Strong organizational, analytical, problemsolving, and communication skills. Detail oriented, self-motivated, and willing to learn. Why Join Wastecorp?
