We are seeking a talented, dynamic, and result driven Production Planner based in our Milton, ON location (Onsite).

The Production Planner plays a critical role in keeping our manufacturing operations running smoothly and our customers delighted. You will be responsible for planning, sequencing, and monitoring production across 1–2 production lines in a complex make-to-order (MTO) environment with 400+ SKUs.

Acting as the key link between Customer Service and Production, you will balance service levels, capacity, and inventory to ensure we deliver on time, every time, while making the best use of our people, equipment, and materials.

The annual base salary range for this position is $70,000 - $100,000 CAD. Your base salary is determined based on location, experience and the pay of employees in similar positions.

Your future team:

You will become part of the Supply Chain Planning team and will be reporting to the Production Planning Manager.

What you will do:

  • Plan and maintain daily and weekly production schedules for 1–2 lines, ensuring customer orders are produced on time within capacity and material constraints.
  • Sequence production for 400+ SKUs to minimize changeovers and downtime while protecting service levels and reducing waste.
  • Lead daily production meetings, aligning Operations, Customer Service, Logistics, and Procurement around a clear, realistic production plan.
  • Adjust schedules quickly in response to breakdowns, quality issues, or material shortages, balancing customer priorities and operational efficiency.
  • Manage order allocation and lead-time commitments, confirming feasibility and improving promised dates where possible.
  • Coordinate rush, delayed, and special orders with other Planners and stakeholders, minimizing disruption to the overall schedule.
  • Track key KPIs (open capacity, schedule adherence, production attainment, on-time ship, run lengths, inventory builds), investigate issues, and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate production master data in SAP.
  • Analyze data to identify and drive continuous improvement in planning, scheduling, and operational flow.

What you bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in production planning, supply planning, or scheduling in a complex, multi-site, and growth-oriented manufacturing environment.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP and advanced planning systems (ideally SAP and APO/IBP or similar tools).
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic modelling and analysis).
  • Experience working in a make-to-order (MTO) or high-mix environment is a strong asset.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement, or similar methodologies is considered an asset. Solid understanding of capacity planning, finite scheduling, and order allocation.
  • Proven ability to interpret production data, capacity reports, and KPIs to drive operational decisions.
  • Strong ERP/MRP skills, including maintaining and troubleshooting master data (routings, bills of material, lead times, lot sizes).
  • Comfortable using Excel and reporting tools to build and interpret reports, dashboards, and what-if scenarios.
  • Ability to work with standard operating procedures and production campaign rules to optimize run sequences and reduce waste.
