About Armes Precision Armes Precision is a build-to-print precision machining and metal fabrication shop in Lynchburg, Virginia. We make parts and assemblies for aerospace and defense customers on 14 CNC mills and lathes across two shifts, and we hold AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality certifications. Our work is high-mix and low-volume: many different jobs and short runs, each with its own drawing, material, and deadline. That variety is what makes planning here challenging and interesting. About the role This is an entry-level position for a recent graduate or early-career professional who wants to learn production planning in a real job shop. You will report directly to the President and learn our scheduling system, our shop floor tracking software, and how we plan our work. You do not need planning experience to apply. We are looking for someone who is organized, analytical, and curious about how parts get made. What you will do Build and update production schedules in MxAPS, balancing machine capacity against job priorities. Track jobs on the shop floor in real time using Shop Floor Insight, and adjust the schedule when priorities change or problems come up. Work every day with production, purchasing, quality, and engineering to balance workloads and resolve scheduling conflicts. Review order requirements, material availability, machine capacity, and staffing to plan the work. Spot bottlenecks and recommend improvements, backed by data. Keep customer service and management informed so that orders ship on time. Report on schedule adherence, throughput, and machine use. Keep work orders, lead times, and job statuses accurate in our business and shop floor systems. Take part in continuous improvement projects across scheduling and the shop floor. What we are looking for A bachelor's degree in supply chain management, operations management, engineering, industrial technology, business, or a related field. Zero to two years of experience. Internships and co-ops in planning, scheduling, manufacturing, or operations count, and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Strong Microsoft Excel skills, and comfort with Outlook and Teams. The ability to read engineering drawings and job routers, or a willingness to learn. Strong analytical skills and the ability to juggle several priorities and adjust quickly. Clear communication. This role works with almost every department every day. Attention to detail and a habit of solving problems before they grow. Nice to have, but not required Experience with MxAPS, Shop Floor Insight, or another planning or ERP system. Progress toward the ASCM Certified in Planning and Inventory (CPIM) credential. What we offer Full training on MxAPS, Shop Floor Insight, and our scheduling practices, with direct mentorship from company leadership. A company healthcare plan and retirement plan. Paid time off for vacation, sick, and personal time: 1.5 weeks in your first year (available after 120 days), 3 weeks in years 1 through 5, then increasing with years of service. Nine paid company holidays, including the day after Thanksgiving and Christmas Eve. Eligibility for a mid-year and year-end bonus based on company and individual performance. Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM to 4:30PM Conditions of employment This position requires access to export-controlled technical data, so applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 CFR 120.62). Offers depend on a criminal background check. A drug screen and an acceptable driving record may also be required. Armes Precision is an equal opportunity employer. Pay: $46,000.00 - $52,000.00 per year Benefits: 401(k) 401(k) matching Health insurance Paid time off Application Question(s): U.S. persons as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (22 CFR 120.62) Education: Bachelor's (Required) Work Location: In person
