ROLE PURPOSE The Production Operations Manager owns the day-to-day flow of getting machines built, tracked, and shipped: inventory, parts procurement, work orders, and fulfillment. This role brings production management expertise and hands-on know-how to a small sports equipment manufacturing company. It sits between the production/assembly team, outsourced manufacturing partners, and the sales and leadership side of the business, and it touches nearly every part of the shop floor. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Manage inventory levels across components, sub-assemblies, and finished machines, keeping counts accurate and current as production moves. Own parts purchasing and procurement: place and track orders with outsourced engineers and sub-assembly manufacturers to keep production supplied and on schedule. Create, track, and close out work orders through the full production cycle, from parts arrival to finished, ship-ready machines. Coordinate fulfillment and shipping logistics so completed orders go out accurately and on time. Serve as the primary owner of production data, maintaining seamless integration with Salesforce CRM. Partner daily with the Warehouse Manager and product technicians to align production schedules with real shop-floor capacity. Identify supply, staffing, or timeline risks and recommend solutions early enough to head off backlog or lead-time issues before they reach customers. Support quality-control checkpoints as machines move through assembly and pre-shipment. QUALIFICATIONS 3+ years of experience as a Production Operations Manager, Operations Coordinator, or similar role in a manufacturing or light-assembly environment. Experience owning purchasing and procurement relationships with outside vendors and sub-assembly manufacturers. Experience with production or inventory management software. Familiarity with Salesforce or a similar CRM is a plus, not a requirement. Strong organizational skills and follow-through. This role is detail- and data-driven: it centers on accurate production records, sound scheduling decisions, and coordination more than floor labor. Clear, proactive communicator who works well in a small, close-knit team and escalates issues without being asked. Comfortable in a fast-moving, small-company environment where priorities shift and the role may expand over time. Education: high school diploma required; associate or bachelor's degree in operations, supply chain, or related field preferred SUCCESS IN THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE Inventory counts match the system, with no surprise shortages stalling builds. Work orders are opened, tracked, and closed consistently. Parts arrive ahead of scheduled builds, and lead times trend down. Leadership hears about risks before customers do. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT Work is performed primarily in the office, with time split between the warehouse. Pay: $65,500.00 - $72,500.00 per year Benefits: Health insurance Paid time off Work Location: In person
