Production Manager II
TAS EnergyPOSITION OVERVIEW: The Manufacturing Production Manager II is responsible for leading one or more production departments or major manufacturing workstreams within TAS operations. This role manages Production Supervisors and direct labor teams, owns performance against safety, quality, delivery, labor, cost objectives, and independently resolves complex production constraints. The position collaborates with Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Project Management, Quality, EHS, Logistics, and Project Management to ensure safe, predictable, and efficient execution of modular manufacturing projects. KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Leads multiple manufacturing facility operations to ensure completion of projects within budget and in a timely and cost-effective manner. Manages and develops Production Supervisors, leads, and direct labor teams. Sets clear expectations, provides coaching, and builds leadership capability and succession readiness. Drives operational performance through the measurement and management of labor utilization, productivity, quality, schedule adherence, and cost efficiency. Addresses employee performance issues in a timely manner and in accordance with company policies, consulting with Human resources as appropriate. Monitors, and reports department operating costs, labor performance, and estimate to complete; escalate risks and variances with recommended solutions. Manages production plans based on backlog, project priorities, labor availability, material readiness, and facility capacity. Develops staffing, shift, workspace, equipment, and overtime plans; recommends timely adjustments to maintain execution commitments. Coordinates priorities and execution requirements across Engineering, Supply Chain, Operations Project Management, Quality, EHS, Logistics, Production Planning, and Project Management. Establishes production objectives, standard work, visual controls, tiered accountability, and escalation processes for assigned areas. Develops and Leads implementation and sustainment of new production lines, work cells, layouts, equipment, and manufacturing methods. Collaborates with EHS to maintain a safe work environment and ensure compliance with applicable programs, policies, training, and practices, including lockout/tagout. Drives continuous improvement initiatives that improve flow, productivity, quality, ergonomics, material movement, and schedule reliability. Manages departmental spending to meet budget objectives while maximizing labor productivity, equipment utilization, and operational efficiency; assists in preparing capital and departmental expense budgets. Participate in hiring, onboarding, performance management, recognition, and employee development in partnership with Human Resources. Execute operational priorities and strategic initiatives as directed by the Director of Operations, demonstrating sound judgment and requiring minimal supervision. Any other duties assigned by TAS. JOB SKILLS: Knowledge of supervisory principles, practices and techniques. Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills. Strong analytical skills. Ability to effectively coordinate and supervise multiple projects. Able to make decisions involving considerable initiative and ingenuity. Commitment to the concept of continual improvement and effective quality management systems. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Heavy Mechanical background experience with pumps, motors, process piping, valves, control valves, skid-based units, process skids, instrumentation.
