Position Summary Green Hill Fence Company is the largest fencing company in the Upstate and is part of Fence Builders, a fast-growing commercial and residential fencing company serving customers across the Carolinas, Tennessee, and Georgia. The Production Manager runs all fence installation operations in the Upstate, reporting to the General Manager and working closely with sales, the Office Manager, and the corporate operations and procurement teams. The role owns the production plan and daily installation schedule, leads crews and subcontractors, and is accountable for every job from sales handoff through final walkthrough, delivered on schedule, safely, to company standards, and at or above its sold gross margin. Key Responsibilities Installation Operations Own the production plan and daily installation schedule, staffing every job with the right crew or subcontractor. Run job startup and handoff from sales, confirming scope, measurements, materials, permits, 811 utility locates, and HOA approvals before crews mobilize. Visit job sites weekly to inspect workmanship, and keep trucks, augers, and tools maintained and job-ready. Coordinate commercial mobilization, phasing, and punch lists with general contractors. Job Cost and Margin Review labor hours, material usage, and equipment time on every job against the estimate each week; act on overruns and secure approved change orders before extra work begins. Keep job status and completion data current in Zoho CRM, and feed actual production rates back to estimating to sharpen future bids. Partner with procurement on material ordering, inventory levels, and pricing, and control waste and returns. Crews, Subcontractors, and Safety Hire, train, evaluate, and develop installers and crew leaders, and build crew capacity to match backlog and seasonal workload. Recruit, qualify, and manage subcontract crews to company quality, schedule, and safety standards. Promote safe work practices on every job, including PPE and equipment safety, report incidents promptly, and help build out company safety standards as they develop. Adopt company-wide production standards as they roll out and recommend improvements. Qualifications Five or more years of fence, site work, or specialty construction installation experience, including three or more years supervising crews or a production team; commercial and residential fence experience strongly preferred.
