Production Lead

POSITION SUMMARY: Support internal production requirements as they relate to required inventory levels and order processing. Position requires knowledge of all Production cycles including but not limited to Procurement, Inventory, Packaging, and Warehouse Operations. Ensure production flow of raw materials and finished goods is optimized through scheduling, tracking and completion. Use MRP system, KANBAN, and Microsoft tools to ensure production schedules are met. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Plans, directs, and coordinates the completion of Production Work Orders in the Production Department.Coordinates and expedites the flow of material, parts, and assemblies within the Production Department or between departments in accordance with production and shipping schedules or department supervisor’s priorities Reviews production schedules and confers with department supervisors to determine material required or overdue and to locate material. Reviews production schedules, inventory reports, and work orders to determine types, quantities, and availability of required material and priorities of customer orders. Requisitions material to Purchasing and establishes delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and anticipated availability of material. May be involved in purchasing consumable materials for Production usage Develops, monitors, and coordinates the processing of Bills of Material to ensure inventory levels of raw material are properly reconciled and finished inventory is accounted for. Examines material delivered to production departments to verify correct type specified prior to locating in inventory for future use. May compute amount of material needed for specific job orders, applying knowledge of product and manufacturing processes and using product modeling techniques. May compile report of quantity and type of material on hand. May move or transport material from one department to another. May compile reports to monitor and track material in process of production (work in progress), using manual or computerized system KANBAN Ensures all personnel in the department are actively engaged in Production work and minimizes idle time by creating backlog Ensures raw material is available for Production orders (inventory). Perform raw material inventories and Cycle counts to ensure inventory system and inventory match. Identify inventory to be entered into Warehouse Management System and ensure its timely processing. Provide raw material usage data in order to create or revise Bill of Materials (BOM’s). Provide Support to Supervisor for personnel requirements and planning. Assign tasking based on order requirements and prioritize work load. Receive all Production PO's and Work Orders.
