Position Description: The Senior Production Planner schedules, coordinates, and expedites the flow of work and materials according to daily and weekly production schedules to meet internal and customer delivery requirements and ensure efficient resource utilization. Duties include proactively reviewing and distributing production work and shipment schedules to appropriate personnel; conferring with department supervisors and leads to determine progress of work and completion dates; assessing inventory levels and solving production problems. This job summary translates into a time-phased build schedule designed to accomplish company revenue goals, at the same time provide level loading to manufacturing, and ensure on time delivery to our customers under our availability model. General Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure daily production requirements are achieved to meet customer expectation by planning and scheduling manufacturing considering material availability, capacities, manpower, and customer/forecasted requirements Analyze and prepare documents needed for production Data analysis and decision making to support raw material supply and finished goods demand. Creates production schedule and prioritizes work orders for production optimization Punctually addressing and resolving production issues to minimize delays in production. Coordinating production operations in unity with material, labor, and equipment availability. Recommending viable solutions to reduce production costs as well as improve production processes and product quality (Example stock vs. non-stock determination based on demand). Effecting changes to production schedules to ensure that production deadlines are met. Promptly informing the relevant departments of changes to production schedule. Works with Engineering for Assembly Procedure updates and Quality team for First Article Inspection. Virtual communication with Planning team in other locations on Transfer orders to meet customer requirements in a timely manner. Researching and identifying the root cause for past due sales orders and find solutions to avoid it in the future. Maintains the production schedule, performance metrics that align with companies’ goals and other reports as required. Follow-up as required with all teams to expedite flow of materials from receiving to shipping thru production to meet production schedule and customer expectation. Complete status reports for production progress, work in process, and raw material inventory. Interacts with Production management daily to resolve issues regarding manufacturing efficiencies or additional information as requested from, Product Management, Purchasing, Customer Service and Accounting Analyzes production specifications and capacity data and performs mathematical calculations to determine near and long-term manufacturing processes, tool and resource requirements Proactively works with Purchasing to eliminate materials shortages in time to meet customer delivery dates as well as safety stock levels as indicated by companies’ MRP. Other duties as assigned Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 10 plus years production planning experience in an electromechanical assembly environment Comprehensive understanding of the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and Master Production Schedule (MPS) aspects of an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, preferably Microsoft Dynamics NAV Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suites Detail-oriented, ability t…
