Production Expeditor
Insight GlobalJOB DESCRIPTION A rapidly growing industrial Engineering and fabrication company is seeking a Production Expeditor to serve as the driving force between work order release and final production completion. This is a highly visible position that works directly with shop personnel, welders, fabrication teams, purchasing, production leadership, and field operations to ensure projects move efficiently through every stage of manufacturing. This individual will take ownership of production work orders, track progress, eliminate bottlenecks, coordinate priorities across departments, and hold teams accountable to schedules and deadlines. The ideal candidate is someone with a strong presence who is comfortable pushing projects forward in a fast-paced environment and working with strong personalities on the production floor. This opportunity is open due to company growth and increasing project volume. You will work closely with a small, tight-knit production leadership team and be positioned for future advancement into Production Management, Operations, or Project Management roles. Candidates with backgrounds in fabrication, welding, machining, industrial manufacturing, construction, military operations, or production planning are highly encouraged to apply. This role is ideal for someone who is gritty, organized, detail-oriented, and not intimidated by difficult conversations when production schedules are at risk. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 3+ years of experience in Production Control, Production Coordination, Work Order Management, Expediting, or Manufacturing Operations Experience owning and tracking work orders from release through production completion Ability to coordinate multiple departments and drive accountability across production teams Strong communication skills with the confidence to work with experienced shop personnel and leadership experience in a manufacturing, fabrication, welding, machine shop, industrial construction, or similar environment Highly organized with the ability to identify and resolve production bottlenecks Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems, production tracking software, or work order systems NICE TO HAVE SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE Military leadership or operations experience Experience in structural steel, fabrication, welding, or construction environments Previous experience as a Production Scheduler, Production Planner, Production Expediter, Manufacturing Coordinator, or Assistant Production Manager Exposure to production metrics, capacity planning, and shop scheduling Leadership or supervisory experience within an industrial manufacturing environment
