Job Purpose The Production Control Planner supports production planning and purchasing activities in a fast-paced, advanced manufacturing environment. This role will manage and coordinate all material activities related to outside vendor processing including adhering to production schedules, managing Outside Service Vendors relationships, and ensuring on-time delivery of high-performance metal components. Key Responsibilities Act as the primary point of contact for managing outside service operations Create and manage purchase orders for outside service providers in alignment with customer needs Track order status and follow up with suppliers to ensure timely delivery Support supplier communication regarding order changes, delays, or issues Maintain strong relationships with vendors and conduct vendor performance evaluations. Collaborate as needed with vendors to improve performance in alignment with customer needs. Escalate supplier issues (late shipments, quality concerns) to senior team members Support sourcing activities for new or alternate suppliers as needed Work with production, engineering, and quality teams to support daily operations Communicate material availability and scheduling updates to internal stakeholders Support development and maintenance of daily and weekly production schedules Monitor work orders and help track status and progress through manufacturing steps Support the broader planning team in adjusting schedules based on material availability and vendor delivery schedules Ensure entry and maintenance of accurate and up to date data in ERP/MRP systems Generate reports on inventory, orders, and production status Support data analysis efforts to improve planning accuracy and efficiency Assist with new product introduction (NPI) activities and production ramp-ups Qualifications 1–3 years of manufacturing experience in production planning, supply chain or purchasing 1-3 years ERP/ MRP experience (EPICOR, SAP, etc.) Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Basic analytical and problem-solving abilities Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, data tracking) Good communication and willingness to learn in a team environment Must be willing to work on site in Newburyport, MA Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Business, Engineering, or related field preferred VulcanForms offers a competitive salary and equity package. Actual compensation is based on factors such as the candidate's skills, qualifications, and experience. In addition, VulcanForms provides comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; generous paid time off; and a 401(k) plan with company match. The annual base salary range for this position is $8 3,200-$114,400.
