Shift: 4-10’s Purpose of Position: The Controller is responsible for inputting data into the GCSS-Army operating system accurately and in a timely manner. Inputs and tracks man hours for a team or section. Receives, picks-up, stores, inventories and distributes materials required for the maintenance of equipment; they can move and load or unload equipment, materials, and products; operating or tending equipment used to transfer material; and related material-handling machinery and equipment. Works directly with the customer and Supervisor to open and close work orders. Maintains work order packets ensuring that all documents are presented and completed properly. Will be required to perform research in GCSS-Army to retrieve and compile data for use in required data calls and briefings. Duties and Responsibilities: This job description is indicative of the work required for the position, but not all inclusive of the work required to perform the duties oof the position. 1. Accurately inputs data and functionally operates in the GCSS-Army system. 2. Coordinates and expedites the flow of materials, parts, components, and assemblies within or between departments in accordance with maintenance and shipping schedules or department supervisors' priorities. 3. Compiles and records production data from customer orders, work orders, product specifications, and individual worker production sheets following prescribed procedures and using various word processing techniques. 4. Serves as the centralized customer service focal point. Processes all work requests, including after-hours calls, dispatches craftsmen to emergencies, and writes. 5. Corrective Maintenance (CM) reports. Classify work using the most current Government work classification system. 6. Inspects, maintains, repairs, operates, and performs minor alternations efficiently and economically. 7. Processes all work requests within 24 hours after receipt to ensure a high level of customer service. 8. Manages vehicle inventory, monitors Government vehicle status, provides maintenance oversight, prepares reports, and investigates vehicle incidents. 9. Processes all work requests within 24 hours of receipt. 10. Performs other duties as assigned to meet organizational/operational objectives. 11. Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) GCSS Army Minimum Experience: Two years of related experience Skills; Administrative: Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Capable of organizing data quickly and effectively. Able to prepare and execute briefings. Knowledge of the customer system. Knowledge of customer’s operating procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft software applications required. o Word o Excel o PowerPoint Mental Requisites: Works under stressful circumstances and meets short suspense dates. Performs other duties as assigned. Will be required, on an as needed basis, to assist or perform functions in alternate areas of the project. Supervisory Experience: Not required Unique Qualifications: CAC and appropriate clearance as required. Must possess a valid driver’s license and be able to obtain a military operator’s permit for each type of vehicle or equipment required to operate. Must be a United States citizen or be authorized to work in the United States. Must be eligible for and maintain a government security clearance.
