Production Associate / Machine Operator About This Role… The Production Associate / Machine Operator plays a key role in the manufacturing of steel building and roofing components for Gideon Steel Panel Company, a Gibraltar company. This position supports production operations by operating equipment, moving materials, fulfilling customer orders, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. The role contributes directly to product quality, customer satisfaction, and operational excellence by embracing GSPC's commitment to zero defects, doing it right the first time, and treating customers and coworkers with respect. Success in this position requires a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and a strong focus on safety and quality. What You'll Do Operate manufacturing equipment used in the fabrication of steel building and roofing components. Safely operate forklifts to transport materials and finished goods throughout the facility. Pick inventory and prepare materials to fulfill customer and production orders. Support production activities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Inspect materials and products to help ensure quality standards are met. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with company safety policies. Follow work instructions, production schedules, and supervisor direction to meet operational goals. Assist with general warehouse, inventory, and facility support duties as needed. Promote a culture of safety, quality, teamwork, and continuous improvement. What Success Looks Like In your first year, you will: Demonstrate safe and efficient operation of production equipment and forklifts. Consistently produce quality work while supporting GSPC's goal of zero defects. Learn and apply manufacturing processes, procedures, and quality standards. Build strong working relationships with team members and supervisors. Contribute to a clean, organized, and safe manufacturing environment. Meet productivity expectations while maintaining a high standard of workmanship. Actively support a culture of accountability, respect, and customer service. What You'll Bring Must-Haves High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills. Ability to take direction and follow through on assigned tasks. Strong sense of accountability and pride in workmanship. Commitment to safety and quality standards. Ability to read and use a tape measure. Forklift experience. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform physical work throughout the shift. Nice-to-Haves One or more years of sheet metal manufacturing experience. Experience operating roll-forming equipment. Experience operating folders, press brakes, or similar fabrication equipment. General warehouse experience. Inventory management or inventory control experience. Experience working in HVAC sheet metal fabrication or similar manufacturing environments. Experience with companies such as Govenair, Temtrol, Climate Craft, Climate Master, International Environmental, or comparable sheet metal manufacturing operations. Location, Travel and Compensation Onsite position. Travel not required. Starting pay range of $16.00 - $20.00 per hour , depending on qualifications, skills, and experience.
