Key Accountabilities In this position, the candidate will be exposed to the processes utilized when developing products in an engineering environment. The work in this role will provide the individual a better understanding of: mechanical components, electrical/electronic components, materials, and environmental requirements associated with Product HSE (Health, Safety, Environment). The activities will provide improved clarity to internal and external stakeholders to ensure compliance of product to environmental requirements. Key functions required for this position include: Work with stakeholders (Industrialization, Hardware Design, Procurement, Suppliers, and Subcontractors) to standardize requirements relating to environmental and performance compliance Streamline information transfer to contract manufacturers Engage suppliers to understand material compliance and collect appropriate compliance documentation Maintain list of approved & disqualified surface treatments for Company designed mechanical parts Work with the Product HSE/ECO Design Manager to analyze materials against environmental requirements and determine product compliance to environmental requirements Generate reports to show Product compliance and areas of non-compliance to the environmental requirements Support environmental lifecycle analysis Document processes and mentor incoming interns Other activities related to Product HSE as required Key Requirements The successful candidate should be working towards an Engineering degree (Mechanical, Electrical, Electronic, Material Science,Chemical, Mechatronic, Engineering Science, or Engineering Physics). Completion of the third year of an undergraduate program. Co-op student available for a 16-month term , with at least one additional quarter or semester of coursework remaining after the completion of the internship.
