You would be working on-site in our Morgantown, PA offices five (5) days per week. We ask that you have experience within a Manufacturing environment, having worked with medical supplies, chemicals, consumable medical products. We support Clinical Care and Scientific Research sectors. Interim Position Summary: The Procurement Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the company's purchasing and procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and reliable acquisition of materials, supplies, equipment, and services. This position manages supplier relationships, negotiates pricing and purchasing terms, monitors inventory requirements, and coordinates procurement activities with internal departments to support business operations. The Procurement Supervisor will establish and maintain effective purchasing processes, identify opportunities for cost savings, mitigate supply chain risks, and ensure procurement activities align with company objectives, quality standards, and operational requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Procurement and Purchasing: Oversee day-to-day purchasing activities, including the procurement of raw materials, components, supplies, equipment, and outside services. Review purchase requisitions and determine appropriate purchasing methods, quantities, and timing. Ensure purchase orders are issued accurately and in a timely manner. Monitor open purchase orders and follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery. Identify opportunities to consolidate purchases, improve purchasing efficiencies, and reduce costs. Establish purchasing guidelines and procedures to promote consistency and accountability. Supplier and Vendor Management: Identify, evaluate, and establish relationships with qualified suppliers and vendors. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contractual arrangements. Monitor supplier performance related to quality, cost, reliability, and delivery. Address supplier issues, including shortages, late deliveries, pricing discrepancies, and quality concerns. Develop and maintain alternative supplier relationships to minimize supply chain disruptions. Inventory and Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with Operations, Production, Warehouse, and Customer Service to forecast purchasing needs and maintain appropriate inventory levels. Monitor inventory availability and purchasing trends to prevent shortages and excess inventory. Coordinate procurement activities with production schedules and customer demand. Evaluate lead times, minimum order quantities, and safety stock requirements. Identify opportunities to improve inventory turnover and reduce carrying costs. Cost Management and Process Improvement: Monitor procurement spending and identify opportunities for cost reductions. Analyze purchasing data, supplier pricing, and market conditions to support purchasing decisions. Develop and maintain procurement metrics and reporting, including purchasing costs, supplier performance, and on-time delivery. Recommend improvements to procurement systems, processes, and controls. Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies, approval requirements, and applicable regulatory and quality standards. Supervisory Responsibilities: Provide day-to-day direction, guidance, and support to procurement and purchasing personnel. Establish work priorities and ensure purchasing activities are completed accurately and on schedule. Monitor employee performance and provide coaching and development.
