Unlike the Sourcing Specialist, who owns RFQs and supplier selection, the Procurement Specialist is responsible for purchase order administration, supplier management, contract execution support, and delivery coordination.
This role works closely with expeditors, suppliers, engineering, logistics, construction teams, and project stakeholders to ensure successful procurement execution. The ideal candidate understands both direct and indirect procurement and is comfortable managing equipment purchases, service agreements, and subcontractor-related procurement activities in complex project environments. Day-to-Day Responsibilities: Manage procurement activities for equipment, materials, construction services, and subcontracted work.
Administer purchase orders from issuance through delivery and closeout. Coordinate with suppliers, project teams, engineering, logistics, and field personnel to ensure procurement milestones are met. Monitor supplier performance, delivery commitments, documentation requirements, and contract compliance.
Track procurement schedules and proactively address potential delivery, documentation, or supplier issues. Support procurement execution for both direct and indirect spend categories. Review procurement documentation, contracts, commercial terms, and supplier requirements.
Coordinate with OFCI expeditors and project teams to align procurement and delivery activities. Maintain procurement records, status reports, supplier files, and tracking systems. Support invoice resolution, change management, supplier communications, and procurement reporting.
Participate in risk identification and mitigation related to schedule, logistics, cost, and supplier performance. Assist project teams with procurement-related issue resolution and stakeholder communications.
