ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
We are seeking a dedicated Procurement Specialist who is motivated to excel in a vibrant work environment. The ideal candidate will perform the following essential duties effectively:
• Communicate, understand, and adhere to all safety procedures, rules, and regulations.
• Process Purchase Requisitions, Issue Requests for Quotes, conduct bid analyses, negotiate contracts, and

issue Purchase Orders.
• Utilize SAP effectively to support the purchasing operations.
• Develop successful negotiation strategies for acquiring materials, equipment, and services crucial to ship production and yard operations.
• Collaborate closely with Production and Engineering to ensure orders meet all specifications and delivery timelines.
• Monitor vendor performance to confirm that orders arrive punctually and within budget.
• Coordinate and oversee the General Stock Items (GSI) list and domestic sourcing processes.
• Work with Material Control and Production to manage Material Problem Reports (MPR) and achieve resolutions.
• Document project shipments and maintain organized schedules reflecting changes.
• Partner with Planning to manage Production Need Dates (PNDs) and effectively communicate with procurement partners.
• Manage Material Supply Agreements with project procurement partners.
• Occasional travel may be required.
• Maintain an organized log of monthly material receipts and commercial invoices.
• Facilitate project meetings as necessary.
• Conduct market research, gather quotes, and create estimates for new projects.
• Collaborate with fellow Buyers to ensure timely delivery of goods and achievement of project milestones.
• Support key stakeholders by providing prompt updates and information as required.
• Perform other related duties as needed.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor of Science or Arts preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of purchasing experience in the shipbuilding industry or government contracting is preferred.
• Proficient in Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.
• Familiarity with Access and PowerPoint.
• Expertise in SAP is essential.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work environment is similar to that of heavy industrial settings, which may include exposure to noise, heat, cold, vibration, dust, fumes, and smoke. Work may be indoors or outdoors and could involve exposure to inclement weather conditions.
