Procurement Specialist

Job Summary The Procurement Specialist supports daily production operations by managing part design changes, procurement, and documentation. The position works closely with engineers, technicians, assemblers, buyers, and stockroom personnel. Key Responsibilities Procurement Manage procurement of fabricated parts. Coordinate with suppliers, including machine shops and parts fabricators. Locate parts availability from approved vendors and negotiate best prices and terms Coordinate with engineering to identify obsolete parts alternatives and request samples Ensure timely delivery of all ordered parts and update MRP Production Support Support the design and production of company products. Manage fabricated part design changes and related documentation. Perform quality inspections of mechanical parts as needed. Maintain component and process documentation. Kit parts from the stockroom for planned production runs. Support customers and company management as needed. Qualifications Experience in procurement of electronic and mechanical parts. Extremely detail oriented, a strong self-starter and comfortable taking initiative to complete tasks from start to finish with little supervision. Proficiency in computer applications. (Excel, Word, etc.) Experience with SAP and CAD programs is a plus. College degree in an engineering or scientific field preferred.
