Job Overview We are seeking a tech-savvy Procurement Specialist to manage supplier negotiations, procurement processes, and order fulfillment for our online retail operation. This role focuses on securing cost-effective deals with domestic and international suppliers, managing contracts, and coordinating drop-shipping logistics, while also handling customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat. The ideal candidate has excellent oral communication skills, strong math and currency conversion abilities, and proven experience in procurement and negotiations. This is a full-time, on-site position in central Toronto, paying $18-24/hour based on experience. Key Responsibilities Supplier Negotiations : Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with domestic and international suppliers to secure cost-effective deals for consumer electronic products. Procurement : Source, evaluate, and onboard suppliers to ensure high-quality products, competitive pricing, and reliable delivery schedules, building strong vendor relationships. Contract Management : Draft, review, and manage supplier contracts to ensure favorable terms and compliance with business requirements. Drop-Shipping Coordination : Coordinate with suppliers to ensure accurate and timely drop-shipping of products to customers, managing order fulfillment processes. Customer Service : Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or chat with exceptional oral and written communication skills to ensure satisfaction and repeat business. Inventory Monitoring : Track stock levels and collaborate with suppliers to maintain adequate inventory for online sales. Currency Conversion : Perform accurate currency conversions for cross-border transactions to optimize costs and pricing. Tech-Savvy Operations : Use e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce), CRM tools, and spreadsheets to manage procurement, track shipments, and analyze supplier performance. Cross-Border Logistics : Manage negotiations and logistics with international suppliers, navigating customs and shipping challenges. Team Collaboration : Work closely with our team to streamline procurement and operational processes, enhancing vendor and customer experiences. Qualifications Experience : 1-2 years of experience in procurement, supplier negotiations, or sales, preferably in retail or e-commerce. Experience negotiating contracts or deals is essential. Communication Skills : Excellent oral communication skills, particularly for phone-based interactions with suppliers and customers, and strong written communication for emails and contracts. Math and Currency Conversion : Strong math skills with proficiency in performing currency conversions for international transactions. Tech-Savviness : Proficient in using e-commerce platforms (e.g., Shopify, Magento, WooCommerce), CRM software, and Microsoft Office/Google Suite. Familiarity with online retail operations is a plus. Negotiation Skills : Proven ability to negotiate pricing, terms, or contracts with suppliers to achieve cost-effective outcomes. Customer Service : Experience handling customer inquiries and resolving issues with professionalism and empathy. Organizational Skills : Strong ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment. Cross-Border Experience : Familiarity with international supplier relationships or logistics (e.g., customs, shipping) is an asset but not required.
