Procurement Specialist (Electrical)

Accountable for price, lead time, and commercial terms. Technical solution, technical conditions, and technical review sit with engineering; this role procures against confirmed technical conditions. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain North American electrical equipment suppliers, including BESS integrators, switchgear and transformer manufacturers, PMS vendors, and their authorized agents/distributors. Conduct supplier qualification, licensing, financial, and compliance pre-screening and maintain the approved supplier list and tiering. Issue RFQs and tender documents by category. Organize quotations, bid openings, commercial bid comparisons, and commercial bid tabulations and award recommendations. Coordinate with engineering to confirm technical compliance. Lead commercial negotiations covering price, lead time, payment terms, warranty, liability, insurance, logistics terms, and other commercial conditions. Draft, review, and execute purchase contracts and purchase orders. Track production progress, shipment, customs clearance, delivery, and payment milestones. Handle commercial exceptions including delays, short shipments, transit damage, claims, and returns. Maintain the order register. Build and maintain category price libraries and track North American equipment pricing, lead times, and capacity. Support annual cost-reduction targets. Conduct supplier-performance reviews covering delivery attainment, commercial responsiveness, and cooperation. Coordinate with project, engineering, finance, and legal teams to close commercial issues. Qualifications & Requirements Bachelor's degree or higher in supply chain, business, engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline. 3+ years of commercial procurement experience involving electrical equipment or engineering materials. Procurement experience with engineering firms, EPCs, MEP contractors, or data center projects preferred. Familiar with the full inquiry, comparison, tendering, and contract-management cycle. Able to independently perform commercial bid evaluation and price analysis. Working knowledge of commercial negotiation and contract risk. Proficient with Excel, including pivot tables and formulas. Experience with ERP/procurement systems such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, or similar. Able to use English as the working language for commercial correspondence and contracts. Based in the U.S. with valid work authorization.
