Procurement Specialist

Sportsfield Specialties, Inc. is seeking a motivated Procurement Specialist for its Delhi, NY location to support purchasing, coordinate outsourced manufacturing and develop vendor relationships. This role plays a key part in keeping production on schedule, resolving issues, and ensuring on-time delivery to customers. The ideal candidate takes ownership, anticipates potential issues and works independently. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: · Manage outsourced manufacturing orders, track progress and lead times, coordinate logistics, and ensure on time delivery. · Develop and maintain vendor relationships, identify and qualify new suppliers and establish backup sources to support business needs. · Monitor open orders, identify potential delays or quality issues, and coordinate with internal teams and vendors to resolve problems proactively. · Create and maintain purchase orders, supplier records, pricing, and procurement documentation while supporting daily purchasing activities. · Monitor vendor performance, delivery schedules, lead times, and quality metrics to identify and support informed decisions. · Partner with Production Planning, Engineering, Quality, Receiving and Account Payable to ensure accurate information, resolve discrepancies and improve procurement processes. · Provide purchasing and administrative support, covering gaps where needed. · Perform other related duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: · Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or related field. · 1-3 years of procurement or purchasing experience. · Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. · Ability to communicate effectively with vendors and internal teams. · Willingness to travel (2-3 times/year). Preferred Qualifications: · Experience with procurement systems or ERP software. · Knowledge of supply chain and inventory management. · Familiarity with purchasing regulations and vendor compliance. Starting pay: $ 72,500/year. The starting pay represents the minimum rate for the position. The actual rate will vary based upon factors including, but not limited to, prior experience, knowledge, skill, and education as they relate to the position’s qualifications and internal equity.
