GenSystems Power Solutions is adding a Procurement Specialist / Buyer to support electrical equipment sourcing for North American AIDC, BESS, microgrid, and power infrastructure projects. The position owns the commercial procurement cycle for electrical categories including BESS systems, medium-voltage switchgear, transformers, power equipment, and power monitoring systems . The role works closely with engineering to confirm technical requirements while maintaining direct commercial ownership of supplier sourcing, RFQs, bid evaluation, negotiation, contracting, order execution, and supplier performance. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain a qualified North American supplier base for BESS equipment, switchgear, transformers, PMS, and related electrical equipment. Identify and qualify manufacturers, authorized agents, distributors, and other supply partners. Conduct supplier qualification, licensing, financial, and compliance screening. Issue RFQs and tender documents by electrical category. Organize quotations, bid openings, commercial comparisons, and bid tabulations. Coordinate with engineering to confirm technical compliance before commercial award. Lead commercial negotiation of price, lead time, payment terms, warranties, liability, insurance, logistics terms, and other commercial conditions. Draft, review, and execute purchase contracts and purchase orders. Track manufacturing progress, shipment, customs clearance, delivery, and payment milestones. Manage commercial exceptions involving delays, shortages, transit damage, claims, and returns. Maintain order and contract registers. Develop category price libraries and track North American equipment pricing and lead-time trends. Identify cost-reduction opportunities and support annual procurement cost targets. Conduct supplier-performance reviews covering delivery, commercial responsiveness, and cooperation. Coordinate with project, engineering, finance, and legal teams to resolve commercial issues. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or higher in supply chain, business, engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related discipline. 3+ years of commercial procurement experience involving electrical equipment, engineered equipment, or engineering materials. Procurement experience with an engineering firm, EPC contractor, MEP contractor, data center organization, or similar project environment is preferred. Experience managing RFQs, quotation comparisons, commercial bid evaluations, tendering, and contract negotiations. Ability to independently prepare commercial bid evaluations and price analyses. Working knowledge of supplier qualification, commercial terms, contracts, purchase orders, and expediting. Proficiency with Excel, including pivot tables and formulas. Experience with ERP or procurement platforms such as SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, or similar systems . Ability to use English as the working language for commercial correspondence and contracts. U.S.-based with valid work authorization.
