Our mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineers work alongside our electronics manufacturing (PCBA) floor every day, and customers work directly with the engineers doing the work. Depending on what a customer needs, we serve as engineering partner, ODM, or contract manufacturer. The Role The Procurement Specialist supports our engineering and manufacturing operations by sourcing materials, managing supplier relationships, and evaluating pricing and availability, so that purchasing keeps pace with project schedules and production needs. You'll need to understand how purchasing decisions affect cost and customer commitments, communicate clearly across departments, and follow an issue through until it's resolved. What You'll Do ▪ Source and purchase electronic components, mechanical parts, and manufacturing materials. ▪ Review bills of materials (BOMs) to identify purchasing requirements, pricing, availability, and lead times. ▪ Request and evaluate supplier quotations, weighing cost, quality, availability, and delivery requirements. ▪ Prepare, issue, and track purchase orders in our ERP system. ▪ Verify supplier stock and lead times before commitments are made to customers. ▪ Monitor open purchase orders, and resolve shortages, delays, and discrepancies as early as possible. ▪ Build and maintain working relationships with suppliers. ▪ Coordinate with Sales, Engineering, Manufacturing, and Logistics to support project execution. ▪ Find opportunities for cost savings, alternate sourcing, and improvements to the purchasing process. ▪ Keep purchasing records accurate and in line with company procedures and quality requirements. What We're Looking For ▪ Several years of purchasing or procurement experience ▪ Working knowledge of BOMs, purchase orders, and supplier quotations ▪ The ability to evaluate purchasing costs and tradeoffs, and explain your recommendations to the Sales team ▪ Clear written communication and consistent follow-through on issues that cross departments ▪ An understanding of supplier stock and lead times, including verifying them before a customer quote is finalized ▪ Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to manage competing priorities ▪ Initiative in solving problems before they escalate Nice to Have ▪ ERP experience, particularly Odoo ▪ Experience working within an ISO 9001 quality management system ▪ Familiarity with aerospace or defense supply chains ▪ Experience purchasing electronic components or materials for engineering and manufacturing projects What Success Looks Like ▪ Materials are purchased accurately, competitively, and on schedule. ▪ Supplier pricing, availability, and lead times are verified and communicated clearly. ▪ Delays and shortages are caught early and resolved before they affect production. ▪ Engineering, Sales, and Manufacturing have reliable information to make decisions and meet their commitments. ▪ Purchasing records stay accurate, organized, and current.
