Procurement Specialist

Job Title: Procurement Specialist Location: Yorba Linda, CA | Onsite Employment Type: Temp to Hire Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–4:00 PM or 8:00 AM–5:00 PM Compensation: $73,000–$80,000 annually Company Overview: A vertically integrated modular design-builder and developer specializing in multifamily housing. The organization combines design, manufacturing, and construction to improve efficiency, reduce project costs and schedules, and expand production capacity through Lean Manufacturing, automation, and advanced technology. Job Summary: The Procurement Specialist will support modular home manufacturing operations through hands-on sourcing and purchasing of construction materials, components, and manufacturing supplies. This role is responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating vendor pricing, managing purchase orders, coordinating deliveries, and ensuring materials are available to support production schedules and budget requirements. The ideal candidate has hands-on purchasing experience within a construction or manufacturing environment and is resourceful, proactive, and comfortable working in an evolving environment. This position requires someone who can develop tracking methods, improve purchasing procedures, and create structure where processes may not yet be fully established. Key Responsibilities: Create and manage purchase orders for construction materials, components, and manufacturing supplies Source and evaluate suppliers, obtain quotes, and negotiate vendor pricing Coordinate delivery schedules to support production timelines Track purchase orders and resolve delivery, quality, or invoicing issues Maintain vendor records and purchasing documentation Communicate material status updates with production and warehouse teams Support inventory control and material receipts Assist with cost analysis, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives Develop and maintain purchasing tracking methods to improve visibility and organization Support the development and implementation of purchasing procedures and processes Qualifications Required: Minimum 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain within a manufacturing environment Hands-on experience sourcing materials, obtaining vendor quotes, negotiating pricing, and managing purchasing activities Experience working within a construction or manufacturing environment Proficiency with Microsoft Excel Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing or just-in-time purchasing Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities and purchase orders simultaneously Strong communication and problem-solving skills Strong time-management skills to meet procurement deadlines and production requirements High school diploma or GED Preferred: NetSuite ERP experience Experience in modular construction or residential building materials Knowledge of construction materials, specifications, and quality standards Experience working with manual or developing purchasing systems and creating tracking methods and procedures College degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field Work Environment: Fast-paced manufacturing environment with changing priorities and urgent requests Primarily office-based with occasional warehouse visits for material inspection Standard business hours with flexibility for supplier coordination Minimal travel for supplier visits or trade shows Reporting Structure: Reports to: Supply Chain Manager Job Overview As a Procurement Specialist, you’ll turn business needs into reliable, cost-conscious sourcing and purchasing decisions.
