Procurement Specialist

Additional information about BWC Terminals is available at www.bwcterminals.com. PURPOSE Responsible for the purchase of materials, equipment and services needed for BWC Terminals (The Company). Procurement Specialist analyze costs, negotiate contract details, and offer strategies and solutions to help companies better manage costs on supplies and vendor services. Additional duties may include: Tracking orders and resolving issues concerning price disputes. Acts as the main contact for suppliers. Communicate and negotiates on behalf of The Company to obtain the best price and quality for all material and services. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Below is a list of essential duties of this position. NOTE : Other duties may be assigned as needed. Delivers high quality purchasing services on a day-to-day basis according to defined procedures, respecting quantity, quality, and timing. Manage entire procurement life cycle from start to finish for assigned spend categories, by evaluating suppliers, handling sourcing, negotiations, issuing of purchase orders, and contract administration. Evaluates proposals and communicates proposals with potential suppliers and requestors. Ensure suppliers comply with PO or Master Service Agreement terms and conditions. Supports user in purchase request scope definition when needed. Perform rate analysis/negotiation and compliance oversight. Coordinate with Finance Department to ensure suppliers are paid on time. Maintains good working relations, acts professionally and positively represents The Company. Participates in relevant and mandatory training as assigned, conducts formal and informal user training on company P2P process. Takes the initiative to identify problems, uses judgment to find appropriate solutions and follows through on resolving issues in a timely manner. Supports team efforts, actively works to generate respect and enthusiasm, cooperates with others, and actively learns from other team members. Interacts and communicates in a professional and appropriate manner and responds to and gives feedback in a respectful and positive manner. Reports to work on time prepared to perform the duties of the position and willing to perform the duties as workload necessitates.
