Hyundai Transys Georgia Seating SystemUSMCA & Trade Compliance Specialist (Freight Forwarding) Entry Level Department: Procurement / Trade Compliance Reports To: Procurement Manager Level: Entry Level Cross-Functional Collaboration: Works across Procurement, Logistics/Supply Chain, and Finance/Accounting departments Position Summary The USMCA & Freight Forwarding Specialist supports trade compliance and logistics coordination for imported and exported goods. This entry-level role is ideal for someone early in their career who wants to build expertise in international trade, customs compliance, and supply chain finance. The specialist will receive training and guidance while taking on real responsibility for SAP financial entries, carrier coordination, and export documentation. Key Responsibilities Financial & SAP Duties Create and post ledger vouchers in SAP for customs entry payments (duties, taxes, broker fees) Reconcile entry payment records against carrier/broker invoices, with guidance from senior staff as needed Maintain accurate documentation for audit and compliance purposes Carrier & Logistics Coordination Request and review quotes from carriers for freight and logistics services Assist in coordinating shipment scheduling and tracking for imported and exported goods Communicate with carriers, customs brokers, and internal teams to help resolve shipping issues Trade Documentation & Compliance Prepare Commercial Invoices for exported goods Prepare and issue Certificates of Origin (USMCA) for qualifying exports Learn and apply USMCA rules of origin and customs documentation standards Support recordkeeping for import/export compliance Cross-Departmental Collaboration Coordinate with Procurement on purchase orders and import-related needs Partner with Logistics/Operations on shipment timing and delivery requirements Work with Finance/Accounting on payment processing and cost allocation Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, International Business, Logistics, Finance, or related field (or equivalent experience) 0–1 years of professional experience; internships or coursework in trade, logistics, or finance a plus Basic understanding of import/export concepts (training provided) Familiarity with SAP or other ERP systems preferred, not required Strong attention to detail and organizational skills Comfortable managing communication across multiple departments and external vendors Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook Preferred (Not Required) Coursework or exposure to USMCA/NAFTA trade regulations Internship experience in freight forwarding, customs brokerage, or procurement What We Offer Structured on-the-job training in trade compliance and logistics Mentorship from Procurement Manager and cross-functional teams Career growth path toward Trade Compliance Analyst or Logistics Coordinator roles
