Standard Job Description Sources, negotiates and purchases machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization. Compiles and analyzes statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives. Monitors performance of suppliers. Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Evaluates areas of opportunity to leverage material acquisitions. Tracks data to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes. Negotiates with suppliers and analyzes suppliers' operations to determine factors that affect prices and to determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules. Reviews proposals, negotiates prices, selects or recommends suppliers, analyzes trends, follows up orders placed, verifies delivery, approves payment, and maintains necessary records. May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages. Basic Qualifications Must possess the following skills: Excellent organization skills Ability to work in a virtual, fast-paced and dynamic environment Ability to work with moderate to less managerial oversight Prior buying experience that supports the understanding a customer requirement all the way through contract closeout, inclusive of generating/interpreting proprietary information agreements, general terms and conditions, concepts of advanced buying techniques such as creating long-term pricing agreements Data mining and synthesizing data to organize a work prioritization weekly schedule Demonstrated experience in negotiations of price for cost savings, generating competition and understand of terms and conditions exceptions Desired Skills Prior electrical commodity buying experience a plus Tableau dashboard experience Past/current experience in working with multiple functional departments outside of supply chain management like contracts, finance, operations, material planning, engineering, quality and accounts payable Pay Information GeoZone Definition: GeoZones are geographic groupings created by Lockheed Martin to align compensation ranges with regional labor markets and cost-of-labor differences across the United States.
