Procurement Operations Specialist

Job Overview As a Procurement Operations Specialist, you’ll keep purchasing and supply chain activities moving with accuracy and momentum. You’ll coordinate sourcing, supplier relationships, contracts, and materials planning while working across teams to support operational needs. This role suits someone who can balance detail-oriented procurement work with practical problem-solving. Responsibilities Manage purchasing activities, purchase orders, and supplier records using SAP, Oracle EBS, or other enterprise resource planning (ERP) and e-procurement systems. Support strategic sourcing, category management, pricing reviews, and direct negotiation with suppliers; contribute to contract negotiation and vendor contract management. Coordinate materials requirements planning (MRP), production planning, logistics, and materials management with manufacturing and supply chain teams. Review procurement contracts for compliance, including applicable public sector purchasing rules and Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR). Use root cause analysis and quality management practices to resolve purchasing issues and improve procurement processes. Skills Essential: Procurement or purchasing experience, supplier management experience, and knowledge of procurement management, contract management, and supply chain management. Essential: Strong negotiation, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills; able to manage contracts and sourcing activities with care. Preferred: Experience with SAP, Oracle EBS, MRP, ERP systems, and e-procurement systems. Preferred: Knowledge of procurement regulations, public sector purchasing, Federal Acquisition Regulations, manufacturing, logistics, pricing, and quality management.
