Procurement Manager
Clear.We are seeking an experienced Procurement & Supply Chain Manager to join a rapidly growing modular data center business in Houston, Texas. This is a key role responsible for developing and managing the procurement and supply chain function across the company's modular data center projects. You will work closely with engineering, project management, manufacturing, operations and commercial teams to ensure critical equipment, materials and services are sourced competitively and delivered on time. The successful candidate will ideally have experience within data centers, modular construction, electrical/mechanical infrastructure, manufacturing, industrial construction or another mission-critical environment. Key Responsibilities Procurement Develop and execute procurement strategies for modular data center projects. Manage the end-to-end procurement process from sourcing and supplier selection through to delivery. Identify, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers, manufacturers, subcontractors and strategic partners. Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, warranties and commercial agreements. Establish and maintain preferred supplier and vendor frameworks. Obtain and evaluate competitive quotations and conduct commercial comparisons. Ensure procurement activities deliver the required cost, quality and schedule objectives. Identify opportunities for cost reduction, value engineering and supplier consolidation. Manage purchase orders, contracts and supplier documentation. Monitor supplier performance and take corrective action where required. Supply Chain Management Develop and maintain supply chain plans aligned with project and manufacturing schedules. Manage material availability, lead times and critical-path procurement. Identify potential supply chain constraints and develop mitigation strategies. Track long-lead equipment and critical materials from order through to delivery. Coordinate with manufacturing and project teams to ensure materials arrive when required. Develop supply chain contingency plans for high-risk or single-source components. Monitor inventory levels and optimize stockholding. Manage logistics and delivery requirements for modular data center projects. Supplier & Vendor Management Build strong long-term relationships with strategic suppliers. Develop supplier qualification and evaluation processes. Establish supplier KPIs covering cost, quality, delivery and responsiveness. Conduct supplier performance reviews. Manage supplier disputes and commercial issues. Identify alternative suppliers to reduce supply chain risk. Develop dual-source strategies where appropriate. Maintain an up-to-date supplier database and procurement pipeline. Commercial & Cost Management Support project budgeting and cost forecasting. Monitor procurement spend against approved budgets. Identify cost-saving opportunities. Negotiate favourable commercial terms. Support contract and purchase order negotiations. Provide regular procurement reports to senior management. Track committed versus actual expenditure. Monitor market pricing and commodity trends. Candidate Requirements Essential 5+ years' experience in procurement, purchasing or supply chain management. Experience managing suppliers and procurement activities within a project-driven environment. Strong commercial negotiation skills. Experience managing long-lead and critical-path equipment. Strong understanding of supplier management and procurement processes. Ability to manage multiple projects, suppliers and competing priorities. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Strong analytical and commercial capabilities. Proficiency with ERP/procurement systems and Microsoft Office.
