A competitive quote means little if a supplier cannot meet the required quality or delivery date. As our Senior Procurement Manager, you will help Foldwell secure dependable manufacturing capacity at commercially sound terms. You will manage supplier relationships for folding cartons, corrugated packaging, and paper-based components. Working with Packaging Development, Production Coordination, and Quality, you will turn customer requirements into clear purchasing agreements and keep suppliers accountable. This is a individual contributor position with purchasing authority within agreed limits. It has no direct reports. Position Details Employment: Full-time, permanent W-2 employee. Base salary: $80,000–$100,000 annually before taxes, paid biweekly. Location: Columbus, Ohio. Work arrangement: Three office days per week, Tuesday–Thursday; remote work on Monday and Friday. Schedule: Monday–Friday, 40 working hours per week; weekends off. Working hours: 8:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m. Eastern Time, including a one-hour unpaid lunch. Reports to: Director of Supply Chain. Travel: Up to 10%, primarily planned domestic supplier visits. Business travel expenses are covered. About Foldwell Foldwell Packaging develops and supplies packaging for food, personal care, and household brands. We coordinate specifications, samples, manufacturing, and delivery through a network of approved production partners. Our customers rely on us to communicate clearly and deliver packaging that meets the agreed requirements. What You’ll Do Source and evaluate manufacturers based on capabilities, capacity, quality, cost, and delivery performance. Run requests for quotation and compare proposals against consistent specifications. Negotiate pricing, minimum order quantities, payment terms, lead times, and tooling arrangements. Assess total purchasing costs, including freight, storage, defects, and production waste. Develop backup supply options for critical products and manufacturing processes. Review supplier performance and agree on corrective actions when standards are missed. Work with Quality to resolve nonconforming orders and negotiate appropriate credits or replacements. Coordinate with production planners when customer demand or supplier capacity changes. Maintain purchasing agreements and document approvals, commitments, and price changes. Report savings, supply risks, and supplier performance to leadership. What You’ll Bring At least six years of procurement or strategic sourcing experience, including three years working with packaging, printed materials, or comparable manufactured products. Demonstrated experience negotiating supplier agreements and managing ongoing commercial relationships. An understanding of specifications, production lead times, minimum order quantities, and cost drivers. Strong Excel skills and experience using purchasing or ERP systems. The ability to compare offers beyond unit price and explain commercial trade-offs. Experience resolving supplier performance issues with operational and quality teams. Clear written and spoken English. Ability to work the hybrid schedule in Columbus and participate in planned supplier visits. A relevant degree is welcome, but equivalent professional experience is equally valued. Nice to Have Experience with folding cartons, corrugated packaging, print finishing, supplier audits, or paper sourcing. A CPSM or similar procurement qualification is helpful but not required. Decision-Making and Priorities You will own sourcing recommendations and negotiations for assigned categories. Contracts and commitments above your purchasing authority require approval from the Director of Supply Chain. Quality retains approval of technical acceptance standards. Your responsibility is to secure commercial terms that support those standards and the agreed delivery plan.
