Job Summary: The Procurement Manager is responsible for overseeing and coordinating all activities related to the sourcing, purchasing, and acquisition of materials, components, and services for the HVAC manufacturing company. The role requires a strong background in manufacturing procurement and supplier management to ensure cost-effectiveness, reliable supply, and a smooth flow of operations. Supervisory Responsibilities: Trains and manages departmental supervisors. Oversees the daily workflow and schedules of the procurement team. Conducts timely, constructive performance evaluations. Manages employee discipline and terminations in alignment with company policies. Duties/Responsibilities: Collaborates with internal teams and external stakeholders to maintain an efficient and cost-effective procurement function. Establishes performance metrics to evaluate and monitor procurement activities, including cost savings, spend, and supplier performance. Develops and executes sourcing strategies for raw materials, components, and supplies across all company locations, including factories and sites. Ensures materials and supplies are purchased in sufficient quantities and on time to optimize production and meet demand. Analyzes purchasing systems, spend data, and procedures, proposing improvements to enhance efficiency and profitability. Develops and enforces procurement policies and procedures to streamline purchasing processes while ensuring high quality and safety standards. Manages the purchase order process, including requisitions, approvals, and contract compliance, in line with company policy and budget. Evaluates make-versus-buy decisions, total cost of ownership, and alternative materials or sources to reduce cost and supply risk. Negotiates pricing, contracts, and delivery terms with suppliers, vendors, and shipping companies to secure favorable conditions. Advises the product development team on material availability, cost, and procurement considerations during new product development. Coordinates with the engineering team on product changes, line extensions, or new product launches to ensure smooth material and production transitions. Monitors and evaluates supplier performance based on quality, reliability, and delivery timelines, identifying new suppliers when necessary. Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills with a proven ability to build and maintain positive relationships with vendors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders. Strong leadership and supervisory capabilities. Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail. In-depth understanding of manufacturing products, materials, and sourcing, specifically in HVAC. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to enhance efficiency and profitability. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and related software. Experience with various ERP systems, such as Oracle, SAP or JDE Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field required; Master's degree preferred. At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory or managerial role in procurement or purchasing within a manufacturing environment (HVAC industry experience is a plus). Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
