Procurement & Inventory Management Specialist

About the Role Funky Chunky is seeking an organized, detail-oriented Procurement & Inventory Management Specialist to support purchasing, supplier relationships, inventory control, and production planning. This position helps ensure raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and supplies are available when needed to support efficient production and customer demand. Key Responsibilities Purchase raw materials, ingredients, packaging, and operating supplies. Create and manage purchase orders, obtain supplier quotes, and monitor pricing, lead times, and delivery schedules. Communicate with vendors to resolve late deliveries, shortages, pricing changes, and invoice discrepancies. Monitor inventory levels and plan purchasing needs based on production schedules, demand, lead times, and available stock. Maintain accurate inventory records in the ERP system and coordinate cycle counts and physical inventory. Support material requirements planning (MRP) and production scheduling. Coordinate with production, warehouse, receiving, finance, and operations teams to prevent material shortages and delays. Monitor expiration dates, excess inventory, and slow-moving materials. Maintain procurement documentation and prepare purchasing and inventory reports. Follow applicable food safety, quality, and traceability procedures. Qualifications At least 3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, inventory management, or supply chain operations. Experience using an ERP or inventory management system. Strong Excel and data-analysis skills. Excellent organization, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage competing priorities and work collaboratively across departments. Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing or food production. Knowledge of MRP, Business Central and production planning, inventory optimization, and supplier performance. Familiarity with food ingredients, packaging, shelf life, and lot traceability.
