Develops and executes sourcing strategies and category management activities for multiple complex and/or critical categories, including implementation plan for achieving business objectives and benefit targets. Establishes and leads cross-functional teams to implement category strategies for sourcing materials and services. What You'll Do Exercise independent judgment and discretion to develop and execute strategic sourcing strategies and category management activities for assigned portfolios and categories of goods and services. This includes conducting market research, analyzing data, identifying alternate opportunities, developing bid packages, coordinating pre-bid conferences, evaluating and awarding bids, and identifying & coordinating deliverables. Responsible for the creation and maintenance of purchase orders utilizing requisitions received from internal clients or requisitioning systems. Includes preparation and submittal of bids or request for proposals (RFP’s) when necessary; evaluation of quotes; placing purchase orders; determining freight carriers; and expediting shipments. These activities include but are not limited to standard stock-coded purchases, one-time, direct charge, goods purchases and services. Also includes releasing purchase orders from new and existing agreements.
