PROCUREMENT BUYER Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry | Manitowoc, WI Shift: 1 st shift, Monday – Friday, start time flexible (between 6 am – 8 am) You won’t just place orders. You’ll help keep production moving. If you like solving the problem before it becomes a production problem, this could be your seat at the table Our Buyer is retiring in January. We’re starting the search now so the next Buyer can learn the business, build supplier relationships, and train directly with the person who knows the role inside and out. This is a hands-on manufacturing role with real ownership. You’ll help make sure the right materials and services are available when they’re needed, all while balancing cost, quality, delivery, inventory, and continuity of supply. What You'll Own Keep materials, components, outside services, and other purchases moving to support production. Work with suppliers on pricing, lead times, delivery, capacity, and performance. Use ERP/MRP and purchasing data to make smart decisions about orders and inventory. Resolve shortages, delivery problems, quality issues, invoice discrepancies, and other supply-chain headaches. Partner with Operations, Scheduling, Engineering, Quality, Finance, and others to keep the business moving. Find better suppliers, better terms, lower costs, and better ways of doing things. What You’ll Bring 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, or related business experience. A natural sense of ownership, you follow the issue until it’s resolved. Confidence talking with suppliers, negotiating, and holding people accountable. Strong organization and attention to detail without losing sight of the bigger picture. ERP/MRP and Excel experience, with the ability to work comfortably with data. Curiosity and a continuous-improvement mindset. Manufacturing purchasing experience is preferred; an associate or bachelor’s degree is a plus. Why You Might See Yourself Here You like being the person who figures it out. You’re organized but not rigid. You can have five things go sideways and still know what needs attention first. You’re comfortable picking up the phone, negotiating a solution, and following through. You like knowing your work has a direct impact on the plant floor. If you are a Buyer who is excited for this rare opportunity to learn from an experienced professional before taking ownership, we want to hear from you. Apply today and start your next chapter with Wisconsin Aluminum Foundry.
