No Work Schedule Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm Sensitive Position No Job Description New River Community College is a two-year public institution of higher education operating under a state-wide system of 23 community colleges. The college is located on a one-hundred plus acre site at the intersection of U.S. Routes 11 and 100 in Dublin, Virginia with an instructional site in Christiansburg. The campus provides modern, well-equipped facilities for the career technical education programs as well as for the college transfer programs. Approximately 4,000 students comprise the student body. The college promotes equal opportunity for prospective students and employees. Duties: Support employees in procuring goods and services for departments, prioritizing cost-effectiveness. Ensure negotiation for and compliance with college-wide contracts. Maintain partnerships with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and high-quality products. Maintain accurate records of all assets owned by the college, including their location, condition and value. Conduct an annual physical inventory to rectify any discrepancies. Provide training to employees on eVA and procurement card procedures. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Special Assignments May be required to perform other duties as assigned. May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor. KSA's/Required Qualifications Experience with procurement processes, including obtaining quotes, working with vendors, processing purchases, and supporting contract administration. Demonstrated ability to use Microsoft Excel to enter, organize, track, and maintain accurate data and records. Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail. Effective oral and written communication skills. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Ability to interpret and follow established policies, procedures, and applicable regulations related to procurement, purchasing, and asset accountability. Additional Considerations Familiarity with data entry and inventory processes, including asset recognition, identification, tracking, and maintaining accurate records. Prior work experience involving familiarity with Virginia State procurement regulations, eVA, PeopleSoft and/or comparable systems. Operation of a State Vehicle No Supervises Employees No Required Travel As needed.
