Principal Planner
Mercury SystemsReporting directly to the Sr. Manager, Planning & Execution, the Principal Planner will be responsible for executing all elements of end-to-end material planning to support existing product as well as newly launched products with the primary objective of meeting/surpassing customer expectations. The successful candidate will collaborate in the development of rolling 24-month demand forecasts and will be responsible for the planning of material and the transition to Operations Planning. Job Responsibilities: Develop the final demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for the full-time horizon by channels and by key accounts (if applicable). Play a key role in monthly S&OP development and work closely with the internal sales team key customer representatives in the development of the collaborative forecast. Responsible for providing training or leadership for team members, and planning & assigning personnel to projects or tasks. Ability to capture risk(s) and develop mitigations. Accurate processing of customer demands in the system. Cooperate with Customer Focus Teams for problems of materials availability. Collaborate with Program Manager, Manufacturing Program Manager, and production control for production rescheduling in case of design changes, insufficient materials or labor, backlog, and other potential causes for plan failure. Controls configuration release into the manufacturing BOM via Initial Release, Incremental Release and Engineering Change process in a manner that minimizes impact on execution, customer on-time delivery and inventory. Methodizes the manufacturing BOM that is conducive to the manufacturing execution strategy. Analyze data, including enterprise requirements planning information and prepares consolidated managerial reports as needed to facilitate and recommend/take action to ensure organization/product line optimal supply chain execution. Manage schedule impact of proposed engineering change orders in addition to taking necessary actions to ensure successful implementation and execution of approved engineering product releases/changes. Work closely with the Materials Management team to evaluate product inventory planning and reporting along with detailed level actions to drive improvement and minimize Excess and Obsolete Inventory in assigned programs. Be a liaison between the New Program teams and Operations for all assigned products. Manage tight deadlines in a low volume, high mix, fast paced, matrixed environment. Monitoring and report metrics including, on time delivery, missing allocations, and production throughput. Meet deadlines to avoid material shortages and delays on assigned tasking based on the master build plan. Partnering with inventory, Quality, Engineer, program office, and production to communicate changes in material demand, facilitate effective material/WIP movement, and maintain appropriate level load plan. Minimize risk of exposure to excess/overstock finish goods. Provides commitment dates and updates to Program Office and Management. Complete other duties as assigned by your supervisor in support of customer deliveries. This position requires you to access information that is subject to U.S. export regulations. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered. Typically requires minimum of 6+ years' experience in planning and/or scheduling, inventory control in a manufacturing environment. Thorough understanding MRP systems and SIOP process is preferred.
