Principal IT Project Manager - IT Supply Chain & Manufacturing Operations
MKSA Day in Your Life at MKS: As a Principal Project Manager at MKS, you will partner with internal teams to lead complex, high-impact technology initiatives within the Office of the CIO. This role drives strategy for a collection of projects or for mid-sized programs; ensures alignment with enterprise goals; and manages cross-functional teams to deliver results on time, within scope, and budget. The Principal Project Manager also helps the Portfolio Manager shape and size the demand pipeline and makes recommendations about sequencing and prioritization. In addition to overseeing project execution, the Principal Project Manager mentors less experienced project managers, supports continuous improvement of PMO practices, and acts as a key liaison between stakeholders and leadership. You Will Make an Impact By: Shaping and sizing the demand pipeline and helping to sequence and prioritize projects and programs. Leading a collection of complex, high-impact projects involving multiple departments and stakeholder groups. Translating strategic objectives into detailed project plans with clear milestones and outcomes. Identifying resources needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner. Proactively identifying and mitigating risks, dependencies, and issues across projects and workstreams. Driving alignment between business and technical teams to ensure successful delivery. Managing project budgets, forecasts, and vendor relationships and ensuring all financial trackers are accurate and updated on a monthly basis. Assessing change readiness and preparing plans to help business stakeholders through change adoption. Serving as primary point of contact for executive stakeholders and sponsors. Creating project artifacts and delivering reporting (project and/or sprint plans, status reports, stakeholder analysis, issues, risks and mitigation, training documentation, etc.). Ensuring appropriate transition from project-mode to steady-state with business and IT teams. Ensuring adherence to PMO governance, reporting, and quality standards. Mentoring less experienced project managers and supporting the evolution of project management practices. Skills You Bring: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience 7+ years of progressive experience managing complex or cross-functional projects. Including experience with IT Supply Chain and/or Manufacturing Operations Program-Level Coordination – Overseeing interrelated projects with shared goals Contract & Vendor Management – Managing third-party deliverables and contracts Business Case Management – partnering with internal stakeholders to define and realize program and project business cases Advanced Financial Management – Lifecycle costing, ROI, and earned value management Change Management – Leading transitions, training, and adoption of new processes/tools PM Methodologies – Deep understanding of Agile, Waterfall, and hybrid models Governance & Compliance – Ensuring alignment with policies, audits, and regulations Preferred Skills: (Optional) PMP or CAPM certification preferred Physical Demands and Working Conditions: Perform activities such as sitting, standing, or typing for extended periods of time Regularly requires good manual dexterity and coordination Must be able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand Must be able to exchange accurate information The ability to observe documents and details at close range (within a few feet of the observer) Operates in a professional office environment Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery Noise level in the work environment is usually average In addition to the above responsibilities, the following are considered material job duties of the position: Ability to take and follow directions and instructions.
