Pricing Coordinator (Freight Forwarding) | $60,000 - $70,000 Base + Benefits | Houston, TX ABOUT Our client is a Singapore-founded freight forwarder, established in 1989, running 68 offices across 40 countries with owned operations on its core trade lanes. The US business operates six stations and Houston is one of the two largest: 30 staff across air export and import, ocean FCL and LCL with a gateway consol programme, and domestic road, serving an energy, petrochemical and industrial book. Until now, rates have lived with senior ops staff between files. With tender season approaching and the station under a growth mandate, that stops working. This seat stands up a dedicated pricing desk: one owner for the buy rates, the sell rates and the speed of every quote that leaves the building. It is a build-your-own-desk opportunity inside a settled, profitable station, and it reports straight to station leadership. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES You will own the station's buy and sell rate library across air and ocean, kept current in CargoWise so quotes go out from live data, not last quarter's file. You will turn spot quote requests around same day across FCL, LCL, airfreight and consol products. You will price RFQ and mini-bid line items with ops and sales, and keep the bid tab honest. You will track GRIs, PSS announcements and capacity swings, and reprice affected lanes before the market does it for you. You will administer NAC and service contract rates with carriers and keep co-loader tariffs current. You will report quote-to-file conversion and margin by lane, so the station sees which rates win and which leak GP. You will support sales with rate cards for prospect meetings. You will chase rate discrepancies on file audits and close them at source. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR You have at least one year in freight forwarding pricing, or two in forwarding operations with heavy quoting exposure. You know the difference between FAK, NAC and spot, and when each belongs on a quote. Your Excel is strong enough to build and defend a rate comparison without help. You have worked in CargoWise One or a comparable TMS. You hold detail under deadline, because a quote that goes out late is a quote that loses. You are Houston based and work from the station. WHAT'S ON OFFER Base salary of $60,000 to $70,000. Medical, dental and vision cover, 401(k) with company match, and PTO. A desk you build and own, reporting straight to station leadership. A route into pricing analyst or commercial roles as the desk proves out. A 30-person station with settled ops and a growth mandate behind it.
