Benefits Competitive Pay 401(k) Match Paid Vacation Closed on Major Holidays Closed Sundays Position Summary The Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Manager is responsible for leading and managing all aspects of the dealership’s pre-owned vehicle sales department. This position oversees inventory acquisition and merchandising, pricing, sales performance, gross profit, desking, appraisal strategy, and the development of the pre-owned sales team. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated automotive professional with a strong understanding of used-vehicle operations, market pricing, inventory management, and sales leadership. The Pre-Owned Sales Manager is expected to maximize profitability while maintaining strong customer satisfaction and efficient inventory turn. Key Responsibilities Pre-Owned Inventory Management Manage the dealership’s entire pre-owned vehicle inventory. Monitor inventory levels, aging, turn rate, pricing, and market competitiveness. Develop and maintain an effective inventory mix based on market demand and dealership objectives. Work closely with the Used Car Buyer/Acquisition team and General Manager to source quality inventory. Establish pricing strategies based on current market conditions, vehicle history, condition, equipment, and competitive listings. Monitor aging inventory and develop action plans for vehicles approaching or exceeding target age. Ensure vehicles are properly reconditioned, photographed, merchandised, and displayed for maximum sales potential. Qualifications 3+ years of automotive dealership sales management experience preferred. Previous experience managing a pre-owned/used vehicle department strongly preferred. Proven track record of achieving sales volume and gross-profit objectives. Strong knowledge of used-vehicle inventory management and market pricing. Strong understanding of vehicle appraisals and trade valuation. Excellent negotiation and closing skills. Strong leadership, coaching, and team-building abilities. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Strong organizational and analytical abilities. Proficiency with dealership management systems, CRM platforms, inventory management tools, and automotive market-pricing systems. Ability to analyze financial and performance reports. Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. Ability to work a dealership retail schedule, including weekends. Preferred Experience Experience with tools and systems such as vAuto, Cox Automotive, Route One, CDK, Kelley Blue Book, CarGurus, AutoTrader, and Cars.com is highly desirable.
