Job Summary We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Powder Coating Technician to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for applying high-quality powder coating finishes to a variety of metal products, ensuring they meet strict quality standards and safety protocols. Your expertise will help us deliver durable, visually appealing coatings that enhance product longevity and customer satisfaction. Duties Prepare surfaces for coating by performing surface preparation tasks such as sanding, cleaning, and surface painting using construction painting techniques. Operate powder coating equipment, including spray guns, airless paint sprayers, and conventional spray systems to apply coatings evenly and efficiently. Interpret production documents to ensure correct color matching, coating specifications, and process steps are followed accurately. Handle materials safely using proper materials handling procedures and adhere strictly to personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols, including respirator use and respiratory protection measures. Maintain equipment by performing routine inspections, cleaning spray guns, and troubleshooting mechanical issues with power tools or machining tools. Conduct quality inspections through visual color comparison and the use of precision measuring instruments to verify coating thickness and finish quality. Follow safety protocols diligently, including PPE use, respirator adherence, and safety procedure compliance during all manufacturing processes. Requirements Proven experience in industrial painting, powder coating, or related manufacturing finishing roles. Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate power tools, machining equipment, and assembly tools effectively. Familiarity with materials handling procedures within a warehouse or manufacturing environment. Ability to interpret production documents accurately and follow detailed instructions precisely. Basic math skills for measuring coating thicknesses and calculating material quantities. Experience with auto body repair or construction painting surface preparation is a plus. Knowledge of safety standards related to industrial painting, respiratory protection, PPE adherence, and safe operation of spray guns and coating equipment. Warehouse experience or familiarity with inventory management is advantageous but not required.
