SC Express LogisticsJob Overview Join our port-focused transportation operation as an owner-operator, moving freight safely and reliably between ports, terminals, and delivery destinations. You’ll use commercial truck driving skills, GPS navigation, and route planning to manage port pickups and deliveries, including over-the-road (OTR) driving routes when needed. Your impact: Careful cargo handling and dependable delivery driving help customers receive freight safely and on schedule. Responsibilities Operate a tractor-trailer and other suitable equipment, including refrigerated trailers; flatbed or tanker experience is useful for applicable loads. Complete port, route, and over-the-road driving assignments using GPS navigation and safe driving practices. Load and unload freight, including automobile transportation cargo, using proper manual handling and logistics cargo handling procedures. Secure and inspect loads; follow hazardous materials and dangerous goods requirements when handling regulated freight. Maintain required trip and vehicle records and comply with Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA), Department of Transportation (DOT), and other applicable regulations. Requirements Current commercial driving qualifications and experience with truck driving, commercial truck driving, delivery driving, and route driving; delivery driver experience is preferred. Ability to operate a tractor-trailer and manual transmission; demonstrate safe loading, unloading, and cargo securement practices. Knowledge of FMCSA and DOT regulations. Hazmat qualifications and familiarity with hazardous materials regulations are preferred for applicable assignments. Experience with freight and port or terminal operations is an advantage; refrigerated trailer, automobile transportation, flatbed, or tanker experience is also valued. Able to perform manual handling tasks and follow safety procedures throughout each trip. Pay: $5,000.00 - $7,000.00 per week Work Location: On the road
