Port Driver - Owner Operator Needed All Year Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Port Driver who is an owner operator to join our team on a year-round basis. This role involves commercial truck driving with a focus on delivering goods efficiently and safely within port and transportation environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting cargo, managing loading and unloading processes, and ensuring timely deliveries to meet operational demands. This position offers the opportunity for owner operators to leverage their own equipment while maintaining a consistent workload throughout the year. Responsibilities Operate commercial trucks safely and efficiently to transport goods to and from port facilities and designated delivery locations. Conduct delivery driving tasks, ensuring timely pickups and drop-offs according to schedule. Load and unload cargo as required, adhering to safety protocols and handling procedures. Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, and vehicle maintenance needs. Perform routine inspections of the truck before and after trips to ensure safety standards are met. Comply with all federal, state, and local transportation regulations, including hours of service rules. Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status and any issues encountered. Keep the vehicle clean, well-maintained, and in good working order for optimal performance. Qualifications Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for port driving. Proven experience in commercial truck driving, particularly in delivery or port environments. Ability to handle truck loading and unloading processes efficiently and safely. Strong knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards. Reliable owner operator with own truck equipment suitable for port operations. Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight schedules consistently. Good communication skills and professionalism in interactions with clients and team members. Physical ability to load/unload cargo as needed.
