SUMMARY: The PMA Quality Inspector & Inventory Coordinator is responsible for supporting requirements for STC and PMA product development activities, supplier quality approvals, production support and continuous process improvement efforts ensuring continued compliance to applicable Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) regulations. This position also functions as the primary liaison to resolve quality issues and ensure appropriate flow down of quality requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists with revision proposals for PMA Quality Manual, PMA Supplier Manual, and related STC/PMA procedures/standards. Performs conformity inspections in support of issuance of 8130-3 certifications. Manages receipt and delivery of production runs from suppliers. Manages delivery of PMA and STC products to customers. Takes an active role to ensure Environmental Health and Safety standards and procedures are followed. Monitors and self-audits proper execution of PMA Quality system and processes. Administers PMA Supplier approvals. Audits commodity and service suppliers (either physical audit or assessment of 3rd party credentials). Manages Approved Supplier Listing (ASL). Initiates supplier corrective action requests in response to discrepancies. Performs contract reviews for new suppliers or products by reviewing purchase orders and any other documentation to ensure delivered products meet or exceed established expectations. Prepares malfunction and defect reports for submission to FAA. Active member of Material Review Board (MRB). Investigates PMA/STC-related deficiencies and initiates corrective actions by ATS management personnel. Provides guidance to ATS personnel on PMA and STC requirements. Travels to supplier locations to facilitate quality audits and source inspections. Actively supports SMS policies and procedures. Ensures that all regulatory and customer requirements are met. Accountable for inventory management processes to include but not limited to: receiving, cycle counts, and shipping of PMA and STC inventory where required. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Degree from a technical school in a related field preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of current experience in aviation-related quality or manufacturing, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Forklift certification required (must obtain certification within 60 days of hire). Valid driver’s license required. PHYSICAL EFFORT AND DEXTERITY: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be required to sit, stand and walk; use their hands and arms; and talk or hear; and focus on objects close up.
