Role Description The Plumbing Service Manager/Dispatcher is a full-time, on-site role based in San Mateo, CA. This role oversees day-to-day scheduling and dispatch of plumbing technicians, ensuring that service calls are prioritized and assigned efficiently. Responsibilities include managing incoming customer requests, providing clear communication about appointments and service expectations, and coordinating with the field team to address any changes or urgent needs. The position also involves monitoring job progress, supporting technician needs, and helping maintain high levels of customer satisfaction. The manager/dispatcher may assist with basic administrative tasks such as updating work orders, tracking inventory or parts requests, and supporting adherence to safety and company procedures. Qualifications Supervisory skills to manage and support plumbing technicians, oversee workflows, and coordinate daily operations. Knowledge of plumbing systems and Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) concepts to understand job requirements and communicate effectively with the field team. Strong customer service and customer satisfaction focus, with the ability to handle inquiries, resolve concerns, and maintain professional communication. Organizational and time management skills to manage schedules, prioritize service calls, and handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. Proficiency with basic office software and dispatch or scheduling tools; ability to maintain accurate records and work orders. Effective verbal and written communication skills, including clear communication with customers, technicians, and management. Experience in service management, dispatch, or a related field in construction or trades is preferred. High school diploma or equivalent required; additional technical or trade-related training is beneficial. Ability to work on-site in San Mateo, CA, and maintain a professional, safety-conscious approach in all interactions.
