Plant Operations Manager Alliance Seafood Inc. – New Brunswick Alliance Seafood Inc. is seeking an experienced, hands-on Plant Operations Manager to lead the day-to-day performance of its seafood processing operations in New Brunswick. This is a highly operational leadership role for someone who is equally comfortable leading employees on the production floor and analyzing production, labour and financial performance . The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring production is completed safely, efficiently, on time and within established cost, quality, food-safety and customer-service expectations, organizing people, priorities and workflow. Key Responsibilities, but not limited to: Lead daily plant operations with a strong and consistent presence on the production floor. Plan and coordinate receiving, processing, value-added production, packing, sanitation, inventory, cold storage and shipping activities. Develop daily, weekly and longer-term production schedules. Determine labour, equipment, raw material and packaging requirements. Prepare production forecasts, labour projections and staffing plans. Monitor production performance against targets and forecasts. Participate in annual budgeting and monitor operating costs against budget. Analyze labour costs, productivity, yields, waste, overtime and production variances. Identify operational issues, determine root causes and implement corrective actions. Supervise, coach and develop plant employees and team leads. Ensure food-safety, quality, sanitation and traceability requirements are consistently followed. Monitor equipment performance, downtime and maintenance requirements. Manage inventory accuracy and product flow. Ensure customer orders are completed accurately and on schedule. Identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, control costs and increase plant capacity. Provide senior management with regular operational and financial performance reports and recommendations. Qualifications Post-secondary education in business, Engineering, Operations Management, Supply Chain or experience in seafood processing, food processing, manufacturing, production or a comparable operating environment. Seafood-processing experience, an asset Minimum 3 years of supervisory or management experience. Demonstrated experience leading employees in a hands-on production environment. Experience with production planning, scheduling and inventory management. Experience preparing production forecasts, labour projections and operating budgets. Strong ability to analyze production, labour and financial information. Experience with food-safety and quality systems is considered a strong asset. Postsecondary education in Operations Management, Business Administration, Food Processing, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Aquaculture or a related field is preferred. Equivalent experience will be considered.
