The position provides oversight of a 350,000-square-foot distribution operation supporting approximately 350 employees, with responsibility for material flow, inventory accuracy, operational efficiency, and financial performance. The ideal candidate brings extensive experience in manufacturing logistics, warehouse operations, continuous improvement, and 3PL management.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead Distribution & Materials Operations: Provide strategic oversight of a high-volume, complex distribution operation, ensuring efficient receiving, inventory management, sequencing, and delivery of components to multiple manufacturing facilities.
• Drive Operational Excellence: Implement Lean manufacturing principles, continuous improvement initiatives, and data-driven strategies to improve productivity, inventory accuracy, quality, safety, and on-time delivery while reducing operating costs.
• Manage Financial & Operational Performance: Develop and oversee annual operating budgets, capital expenditures, and labor planning.
• Build a High-Performance Culture: Collaborate with 3PL leadership to strengthen employee engagement, accountability, and professional development.
Qualifications
• Education & Leadership Experience: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline, with 10+ years of progressive management experience in manufacturing, distribution, logistics, or materials operations. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
• Distribution & Supply Chain Expertise: Demonstrated success managing large-scale warehouse or distribution operations, preferably involving third-party logistics providers, complex inventory environments, high SKU volumes, and just-in-time or sequenced material delivery to manufacturing facilities.
• Continuous Improvement & Operational Strategy: Strong working knowledge of Lean manufacturing, Toyota Production System (TPS), Six Sigma, or comparable operational excellence methodologies. Proven ability to implement measurable improvements through structured problem-solving and performance analytics.
• Leadership & Business Acumen: Exceptional communication, decision-making, and organizational leadership skills, with experience managing budgets, influencing cross-functional teams, developing operational strategies, and fostering a culture of safety, quality, and accountability. A master's degree or DMAIC certification is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
• Salary: $170-180K (DOE) + 20% Bonus and full benfits
