The Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the entire manufacturing process in the folding carton plant, ensuring that operations run with a focus on SAFETY, QUALITY, ON TIME DELIVERY, EFFICIENCY and COST CONTROL. This role requires strong leadership, a deep understanding of folding carton embellishment/converting and press room processes, and a commitment to continuous improvement and difficult conversations. The Plant Manager will lead cross-functional teams across production, die-cutting, folding/gluing, finishing department, maintenance, quality, warehousing, and continuous improvement initiatives to achieve operational excellence and business objectives. Essential JOB DUTIES Essential job functions and duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Direct and manager daily folding carton converting operations, including printing (including the ink room), film lamination, screen coating, lamination to flute, stamping/embossing, die-cutting, blanking/stripping, window application, and gluing. Implement strategies to optimize plant performance, capacity utilization, and profitability. Manage annual operating budgets, and capital expenditure plans. Maintain strict quality standards by working with Quality Assurance to identify and address defects or process deviations. Ensure products consistently meet customer specifications and quality standards. Develop and monitor production schedules to meet customer deadlines while maximizing efficiency. Monitor key performance indicators (KPI’s) including productivity, efficiency, waste, downtime, quality, safety, and on-time delivery. Ensure preventative and predictive maintenance programs are effectively executed. Troubleshoot production issues and implement corrective actions to maintain seamless operations. Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Lead and sustain a culture of continuous improvement by driving Lean Six Sigma (L6S) methodologies across manufacturing operations, identifying process improvement opportunities, reducing waste, improving quality, increasing productivity, and delivering measurable business results through data-driven decision making and employee engagement. Ensure the facility remains clean, well-organized, and optimized for safety and efficiency. Partner with Sales, Customer Service, Procurement, Outsourcing, Shipping/Logistics and Supply Chain teams to meet customer expectations. Conduct performance evaluations, offer constructive coaching, and implement disciplinary actions when necessary to support employee growth and maintain workplace standards. Perform 1”1 weekly meeting, with all direct reporting manufacturing leaders and update VP/GM on a weekly basis. Effective planning and organizational skills as they relate to shipping/receiving and warehouse operations. Effective presentation skills (one-on-one or in group settings), and effective telephone etiquette skills/techniques.
