MCPPlanning Team Lead (Thursday-Sunday) Location: Somerville, TN Reports To: Supply Chain Supervisor Schedule: Thursday to Sunday, 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, including a 1-hour unpaid lunch (10 hours worked per shift). Type: Full-time, hourly. Position Summary: The Planning Team Lead leads the Thursday to Sunday supply chain crew. This person keeps the weekend production schedule on track by confirming that material is available, adjusting sequencing when conditions change, and making decisions that keep the plant running. When the Supervisor is off site, the Planning Team Lead is the first point of escalation for the crew. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who is comfortable being accountable for outcomes, coaching others, and communicating clearly across production, materials, and the Monday to Thursday team. Key Responsibilities: Run the shift start-up, confirm material availability for scheduled work, and adjust sequencing as conditions change. Lead the Thursday to Sunday start-up huddle, review daily priorities, and assign work to clerks and coordinators. Direct the weekend clerks and coordinators, balancing workload and setting clear priorities when requests compete. Connect with Operations on targeted output and schedule goals, and adjust the weekend plan to meet them. Identify shortages and schedule changes early, resolve what can be fixed on shift, and escalate what cannot. Document the shift in detail and hand off clearly to the Monday to Thursday crew and the Supervisor. Track weekend schedule attainment, identify misses, and report root causes with recommendations for improvement. Train new hourly team members on standard work practices and SAP transactions. Build and maintain strong working relationships with Production, Receiving, Quality, and Purchasing. Qualifications: Required Experience in production planning, materials management, supply chain operations, or a related field Working knowledge of SAP and MRP-driven planning Demonstrated ability to lead or coordinate a small team, especially in a fast-paced environment Strong decision-making skills and the ability to stay calm when schedules change Clear written and verbal communication, including documenting and handing off work Preferred Prior experience as a lead, supervisor, or senior team member Experience training others on processes or systems Familiarity with shop-floor operations and production scheduling Experience with weekend or non-standard shift schedules Work Environment & Physical Requirements: This role requires walking, standing, sitting, twisting, bending, squatting, climbing stairs, reaching, pulling, and pushing throughout the day, with occasional lifting and carrying of up to 50 lbs. Frequent computer use is required, along with the ability to use both hands, feet, arms, and legs. Regular presence is required in manufacturing, warehouse, laboratory, and office environments, including use of required PPE.
