Planner III
Frontgrade TechnologiesThe Senior Production Planner owns production planning and schedule execution for complex or high-mix programs within assigned value streams. This role develops and maintains executable production schedules aligned with the Master Production Schedule (MPS) and customer delivery commitments while coordinating cross-functional actions to resolve constraints and protect schedule performance. The role proactively manages risks related to material availability, production capacity, quality holds, and technical issues, driving recovery plans and escalating issues when necessary to maintain delivery performance. Production Planning & Scheduling Develop and maintain executable production schedules aligned with MPS and customer contract dates Sequence production builds based on delivery commitments, material availability, and capacity constraints Monitor schedule health and adjust priorities to maintain schedule stability and execution Schedule Execution & Recovery Drive recovery plans for schedule disruptions including material shortages, quality holds, technical issues, and capacity limitations Coordinate cross-functional actions with Operations, Quality, Procurement, and Program Management to resolve production constraints Escalate risks through Tier 2 / Tier 3 forums with clear mitigation plans Capacity & Production Flow Monitor production capacity constraints including testing, burn-in, seal windows, labor availability, and key production resources Balance production loads and identify bottlenecks to maintain efficient workflow Monitor work-in-process (WIP) flow and aging to ensure timely progression through manufacturing operations Program Visibility & Communication Review and update program status regularly to ensure schedule alignment with delivery commitments Maintain visibility of material, WIP, quality, and technical issues impacting production schedules Provide clear program status updates and recovery plans for high-visibility programs Cross-Functional Coordination Lead program-specific meetings to resolve schedule constraints and align recovery actions Collaborate with supply chain and operations teams to prioritize material, inspections, and production readiness Decision Authority Production sequencing and build prioritization within assigned programs Delivery date adjustments (pull-ins or push-outs) with supporting recovery plans Escalation of program risks and recommended mitigation actions Performance Metrics On-Time Delivery (OTD) On-Time to Master Production Schedule (OT to MPS) Past Due Backlog (PDB) reduction Schedule adherence and execution reliability WIP flow and aging management Minimum five (5) years of experience in production planning, manufacturing, supply chain, or a related functional discipline. A Master’s degree may substitute for two (2) years of experience, with a minimum of three (3) years of applicable experience required. Advanced production planning and scheduling skills. Strong Excel skills for data analysis, schedule tracking, and reporting. Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems and manufacturing data. Strong cross-functional communication, problem solving, and recovery planning skills. Demonstrated ability to make decisions and solve problems in complex or loosely defined operating environments. Ability to leverage available technology, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve planning processes and decision support. Data analytics experience using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or Python preferred but not required. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Operations Management, or a related field. Applicable experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.
